On February 23, Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at the engagement party of gay couple Alex Goldschmidt and Ross Girard. The gay couple and guests at their engagement party were treated to an unforgettable surprise appearance of Taylor Swift.
The gay couple was celebrating their engagement party on Saturday at the Sycamore Tavern in Los Angeles, California. While Girard had no clue on what was happening, Goldschmidt had a surprise for him. However, it was no ordinary surprise.
“There was one secret I didn’t trust any of you with. There was a person who’s not here who sort of played a part in all of this and I would like to welcome, and if you could give a warm welcome, to my friend Taylor,” Goldschmidt had announced.
“I was surprised by a room filled with friends, family, and a serenade from Taylor Swift! Today is a day I will never forget.” — Ross Girard
That’s when Swift walked into gasps and cheers with her guitar slung over her shoulder. She addressed the small crowd and told them Goldschmidt reached out to her. He had also explained to her what the song King of My Heart meant to him and Girard.

‘She came, she sang, I’m dead’
“Alex emailed me and said he was going to do this and that there was a song that was really special for you two called ‘King Of My Heart’,” Swift said. “This is from Alex, sung by me, but from Alex,” she also added.
“She came, she sang, I’m dead,” Goldschmidt wrote in a post sharing pictures of him and Girard with Swift.
‘This is from Alex. It’s sung by me, but it’s from Alex.’
Swift played an acoustic version of “King Of My Heart” from her latest album, Reputation.
Furthermore, Goldschmidt explained the song was particularly special to him as it was when he decided to propose to Girard. “I decided to propose to Ross listening to this song in my car. I can’t thank Taylor enough for wanting to help make this day so special,” Goldschmidt wrote.
Girard also posted some photos, not just of the party and Swift, but the proposal as well. What a cute couple!
