Cocktail recipes for your next Pride Party

The Indian Pride Month is coming up soon and we are already excited. What better way to celebrate than with cocktails that pair perfectly with the season? Here are our top picks:

A Tropical Rainbow Float:

What better way to honour pride month than with a rainbow cocktail, right? To make this colourful concoction, all you need is 50ml of Smirnoff, 75ml of lemon lime soda, 50ml of pineapple juice, 5 to 6 scoops of rainbow sherbet and, some strawberries and raspberries.

What to do: Fill your glass with some ice, pour the Smirnoff with the tangy pineapple juice and lemon lime soda into the glass. Add the juicy strawberries and raspberries. Now stir vigorously. Finish the drink with a scoop of rainbow sherbet on top of the glass.

A Classy Rainbow Sangria:

To make this simple yet refreshing cocktail you will need a bottle of refrigerated dry white wine, 3 table spoons of honey or granulated sugar, 8 cups of diced fruits of different colours and, 2 table spoons of lime juice. If you want, you can also consider spicing up the recipe with 2 oz or 60ml of brandy and, half a cup of ginger ale or club soda.

What to do: Take a pitcher. Add the wine, honey or sugar (which ever you have) and the lime juice. Stir it until its combined. Now, add the fruits of your choice to a different pitcher or your glass to represent a rainbow. Then pour the wine concoction until the fruits are covered. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes to get the best flavour. Top it off with the soda and brandy (optional).

How about an Equalitea:

If you are a fan of ice teas this is going to be your best friend. The ingredients you need are 50ml of Smirnoff, 100ml of iced tea, some sliced peaches and fresh mint leaves.

What to do: Fill your glass of choice with ice. Pour the Smirnoff along with the ice tea. Now add the sliced peaches to the glass and mix well. Finally, Garnish with mint leaves and drink away. Its that simple.

For all my Queens out there – Kween’s Chalice:

Perfect for those with who want something zesty and sweet. To make this citrusy goodness, you’ll need 1oz or 30ml of Absolut Lime, 3oz or 90ml of watermelon juice, a half an oz or 15ml of lime and, some mint for garnish.

What to do: Just add all the ingredients into a glass with ice and, mix well. Don’t forget to add those final touches with your fresh mint.

A Colada for pride – Swimming pool Cocktail:

This is an extra fruity punch, so you’ll need 40ml of vodka, 20ml of coconut cream, 20ml of cream, 20ml of blue curacao and 10ml of pineapple juice.

What to do: Pour some ice, pineapple juice, coconut cream and cream into a blender. Blend it well. Now, strain the cocktail into a glass (preferably a hurricane glass). Add the blue curacao on top and Voila! serve.

Summery Raspberry Rum Punch:

To make this tropical punch, take 30ml of Diplomatico Anejo Rum (or any premium rum), 30ml of raspberry tea, 30ml of mango juice, 30 ml of pineapple juice, 30 ml of lime juice and finally 30ml of grenadine. For garnish, you’ll need pineapple slices, cherries and, fresh mint.

What to do: Just add all the ingredients (except the garnish) into a tin. Mix well. Pour into a Tom collins glass with some ice. Stir well for about 7-10 seconds. Now garnish with fruits and mint. Serve chill!

The perfect quencher – Pineapple and Blackberry Margarita:

This recipe calls for 2oz or 60ml tequila, 1oz or 30ml of pineapple juice, 1ml or 30ml of lime juice, 5 pieces of blackberries, 15ml of agave, and salt.

What to do: Salt the rim of the glass. Now add all your ingredients into a cocktail shaker with some ice. Shake vigorously. Strain the cocktail into your glass over some fresh ice. Enjoy!

For something Light – Disco Spritz:

This is a simple yet sophisticated drink for those outdoor get togethers. The recipe calls for, 1 part of Absolut Vodka, 3 parts of Tonic Water, a wedge of lemon and, a forth part of Eldeflower Cordial.

What to do: Its simple. Just fill a tall glass (preferably a  highball glass) with ice cubes. Add all your ingredients. Mix well. Garnish with the Lemon wedge.
