Why the need for separate LGBTQ streaming platforms?
Media is a strong form of communicating, spreading and creating awareness about any topic. Where the world, especially India has failed is when it comes to streaming LGBTQ stories of hardships and love. Their tales never got the importance or depiction as cisgender tales have. Very few movies and shows that represented the LGBTQ exist.
However, the changing times have given us many queer centric content – especially in the past decade. Movies and shows have always been a source of knowledge and understanding to everyone. It’s high time we use them for eliminating discrimination against the queer community.
